Miniature ceramic plate - Quimper man
This hand made, signed and hand painted ceramic dinner plate is decorated in the old French country style of Quimper, a small town in Brittany. The pottery was made as early as 1708 and a popular motif is a man or woman in the traditional "Breton" costume. The plate is almost paper thin and 1 inch in diameter.
I make all of my items from start to finish, using clay, underglaze paint, several glazes, china paint and fires them several times as required by the decoration and technique used.
